Why Fall Is the Best Time to Purchase a Sea-Doo in Manitoba
During the summers in Canada, there aren't many better things than getting out on a Sea-Doo and enjoying life on the water. However, if this is your first time getting a personal watercraft, you might be wondering when's the best time to visit your dealer in Manitoba to see what's available.
In most cases, the best time to buy a Sea-Doo is during the fall. When you go to the dealership in Winnipeg, you'll have a lot of great options available if you buy in the fall. Here's why it makes sense to start boat buying and jet ski purchases once the leaves start changing.
New Models Arriving in the Fall
If you've ever paid attention to cars, ATVs, fishing boats or other vehicles, you probably know that the next year's models start to show up in the fall months. That means there's plenty of incentive for a boat dealer to get last year's models off the lot and sold to whoever's interested. If you're trying to buy your first boat, the glut of inventory makes this the perfect time to start your search.
For example, if you've had your eye on the Sea-Doo Spark but didn't really have the funds to justify the purchase, dealer discounts on the 2024 model should put it in your price range. While other consumers are looking at a new boat from the 2025 line, you can get a version that's just as good at a fraction of the price.
Lack of Demand
The average Canadian isn't thinking about buying a personal watercraft in Manitoba in the fall. In some parts of southern Ontario, demand might be higher, but in the Keystone Province, people are more likely to be thinking about a snowmobile over a personal watercraft.
That swings the advantage to the consumer. When the dealer knows they need to get old models off the lot and they don't necessarily have a lot of consumers available, they'll work with you to get you to yes.
If you're looking at the Sea-Doo Switch, there really isn't much demand for a pontoon boat that can't be used for several months during the fall. Use this to your advantage and see what your Manitoba boat dealer is willing to do.
Why You Shouldn't Wait
If fall is a great time to buy a Sea-Doo because of the lack of demand, wouldn't the same be true in the winter? Unfortunately, no, and there are multiple reasons why. First, once the old models are gone, there's little reason for a dealer to put out a sale on anything but a used boat.
Second, the holiday buying season means boaters have much more incentive to consider a Sea-Doo as a gift. Demand rises, and the window on cheaper power boats closes. Finally, most riders are willing to wait three or four months to use their new personal watercraft. Seven to eight months feels much more difficult, so most Canadian consumers don't want to buy in the fall.
Again, all of that works to your advantage. By timing things right, you can save yourself a bundle on a new Sea-Doo model in the fall.
