Maintenance Tips for Your Sea-Doo Spark: Keep Your Watercraft Running Smoothly
Your Sea-Doo Spark is a high-performance, high-tech machine that requires regular care and maintenance to keep it running smoothly. Every time you hit the start button, you deserve effortless throttling and smooth cruising, which can only be accomplished with proper care. At FFUN Motorsports, our service department can help you keep your personal watercraft running as it should for years to come. However, there are a few things you can do on your own to keep your craft in top shape.
Read Your Owner's Manual
Your owner's manual may seem long and full of information you already know, but it also contains details on how to understand your Sea-Doo Spark and how to keep it maintained and safe for riders. Pay close attention to any safety warnings in your owner's manual and read the care instructions. Your owner's manual will provide you with a suggested maintenance schedule and provide insights on your watercraft's engine and propulsion system, so you know what to look for and how to respond when your personal watercraft malfunctions.
Follow a Regular Maintenance Schedule
Whether you're a first-time boat owner or a seasoned sailor, you should know that following a regular maintenance schedule helps ensure you'll have plenty of hours on the water. For your Sea-Doo Spark, it's recommended you contact FFUN Motorsports to schedule a 10-hour performance checklist to check the health of your jet ski engine. Additional maintenance should include a daily pre-op checklist and a pre-season preparation checklist. The daily checklist is performed by you, the owner, while the pre-season prep checklist should be handled by both you and the dealer. Your daily checklist should include checking your PWC engine fluids and inspecting for loose or damaged parts.
Proper Care and Cleaning
Each time you put your Sea-Doo in the water, it's exposed to dirt, debris and saltwater which can cause rust, corrosion and staining. Protect your hull by spraying a Sea-Doo hull cleaner. Wait a few minutes to allow the product to work and scrub the exterior with a soft brush. Finally, rinse your hull with clean water. You can use a pressure washer for tough areas.
Winterizing
When summer is over and it's time to store your watercraft, it's important to get it ready for winter so it endures the harsh cold. Drain the engine of any water and clean the watercraft thoroughly. Lubricate all the hinges and handles and add fuel stabilizer to the fuel tank. Finally, cover your watercraft with a durable cover and store in a safe location.
